Method
Ben uses the Ear Training Method. There is no phonetic alphabet to learn and no time-consuming studying of yet another “language.” Instead you will learn to speak in the accents or dialects of your choosing using the same techniques that you used as a child to learn your first language. You will be immersed in your accent(s)/dialect(s) of choice, learn to think in them, and speak them with the music and rhythm that makes each accent and dialect unique. And you will do this in an enjoyable, playful way…the same as when you were a child learning your original language and how to speak it. At the end of the first session Ben will help you make a recording, usually a CD, for you to use when you practice. This will include such things as practice text and tongue twisters. A recording is also made for any new material that you want to learn such as monologues or audition scenes. Ben believes that the music and rhythm of a dialect or accent are as essential as the pronunciation of the words themselves. He understands the importance of accents and dialects to any career.
