About Ben
Ben D'Aubery was born and raised in Hollywood and grew up surrounded by the Motion Picture Industry. His grandfather, Max Karger, was one of the founders of MGM and discovered such early film and stage actors as Rudolf Valentino and the great Nazimova. His uncle, Freddy Karger, was a film composer and vocal coach for many of Hollywood’s Golden Era stars including Marilyn Monroe. Having lived in different cities in America and the world Ben has acquired a vast working knowledge of numerous regional and international accents and dialects. In Hollywood Ben furthered his understanding of accents and dialects by studying with Jerry Blunt and Larry Moss. Ben believes that the music and rhythm of a dialect or accent are as essential as the pronunciation of the words themselves. He understands the importance of accents and dialects to any career. One of Ben’s great joys is to help someone lose an accent that has held them back from success. And he loves to watch his students in a film or on TV beautifully, naturally and flawlessly using a dialect that he helped them learn.
